9/20/2023 0 Comments Loom and leaf mattress redditMany people will perceive even a soft latex to be firmer than memory foam. It doesn’t sink and stop, it squishes and cradles. To me, latex feels softer than even the softest memory foam, because the softness is always there. The softest have a pillow like feel, where the firmest are reminiscent of a plush yoga mat - softer than that of course, but the push back is more noticeable like that. Latex comes in several firmness options just like memory foam. It’s more like regular polyfoam, and it has a quick response and push back that is what provides bounce. Latex is completely the opposite of that. You sink in, but then when you’re in, it feels kind of hard to me. Latex is kind of the opposite of memory foam. ![]() Any insight you guys could provide would be great. The L&L sounds great on paper, coming from a Tempur.but it is so hard to find honest opinions on it that i've nearly given up. The split idea seems necessary, as she is a lot smaller than i and wants a softer comfort layer no matter which way we go. But we've never been able to lay on a latex mattress so it's hard to feel confident pulling the trigger on a completely unknown. ![]() The idea of latex makes perfect sense, given that we sleep hot and don't like spring or hybrid mattresses. I can do a split king with adjustable bases for around $4k, which is the sweet spot for the budget. However, i wonder how much heat it will truly hold and how long it will last. The Saatva seems (?) to be a solid alternative to a tempurpedic and would be ok for us, given that we like the firm Tempur feel. On to current considerations, i am looking at both the full organic latex option from SleepEZ, and the Saatva Loom & Leaf. I started looking into other Mattress options and discovered how bought & paid for the entire industry is. ![]() I thought I was crazy when i spent 5k on the Allura. We stopped at a Mattress Firm thinking a new Tempurpedic was in our future.we loved the LuxeBreeze firm but then i saw the price tag.LuxeBreeze split king with adjustable bases is going to be nearly $15k out the door. Additionally, we have both started sleeping very warm and the tempur is holding the heat and making us wake up sweaty nearly every night. We have absolutely loved the firm feel of the Tempur but it is showing its age at this point. We currently sleep on a 10 year old queen Tempur Cloud Allura. My wife (5', 140lbs, mostly side sleeper) and I (6', 250lbs, stomach / side) are mattress shopping.
